At 9.30 this morning Balatonring rider Balázs Németh was visited by Doctor Enrique Gastaldi, who discharged him from hospital. Following an operation last night on his injured left hand, the Hungarian underwent another x-ray this morning to check that the treatment had been successful. After further checks on the general physical state of the rider, he was cleared to head for Manises airport and take an Iberia flight to Budapest via Madrid.
Balázs will have to keep his arm in a protective sling over the next few days in order to prevent bruising, which will have to be removed and re-dressed in a local hospital. His stitches will be ready to be removed after ten days and in thirty days' time he will have the pin removed from his fifth metacarpal.
