Bancaja Aspar rider Pere Tutusaus continued his good form in the Spanish Championship with another podium finish at Albacete this weekend.

Pere now sits comfortably in third position in the championship with 40 points, only 2 points behind Luis Salom and 10 points behind leader Efren Vazquez.

Post-Race Quotes From Germany; 250cc

3rd Álvaro Bautista:
"I think that today we had a very good result. The first two laps were very slow for me because II just couldn't find any feeling, and the bike was stepping out on the front and rear. At the start it was hard to ride, but as the race went on I felt stronger and more confident as I tried to make up positions. I am happy with the result, but above all I am pleased to have been able to bounce back from a difficult position. At the end of the race I was set on second, but then the pace picked up and I didn't want to take a big risk. It was much more important to finish third than to take a gamble and not finish."

Héctor Faubel:
"In the practice sessions all weekend I was going well. We reverted to the configuration that we used in Catalunya, and every little change made me feel better with the Aprilia. In the dry I felt strong enough to be in the trailing group, and it's a pity that it rained when it did. We weren't able to see the true potential of our hard work. The result today serves to improve our experience in the category and in the wet, and the tracks that are coming up after the summer break are ones that I like and think that I will continue to do well at."

Post-Race Quotes From Germany; 125cc

3rd Gábor Talmacsi
"It has been a difficult race from the start due to the conditions. In any case I am satisfied with the podium, above all because the rain made it so hard. Lap by lap I felt more comfortable and understood that I shouldn't take any unnecessary risks whilst in such a good position. The final laps in the rain made things very hard, and I thought that they were going to stop the race. I am happy with the pole position, which confirms that we are going in the right direction, and I can now relax during the break knowing that I am back in the title hunt."

13th Pere Tutusaus:
"It has been one of the most fun races to date for me in the World Championship, but it was hard. All weekend we had a multitude of complications and I never felt at ease with my riding. From the start I focused on coming back through the pack, and I saw a group way out in front that I tried to catch. I saw Pol and I drove myself to pass him, and from there my confidence grew and grew. I had the will to take points, and I can continue my motivated state during the summer, eager to get back into action the same way that I did today."

Sergio Gadea (DNF):
"At the start of the race I found it hard to find a good feeling with the bike. I didn't feel secure on the turns and the first laps made me think that I was going to crash out. The setup wasn't right today, for these conditions. I started to get more comfortable, and felt confident of riding fast at times, but then my bike froze up and I ran off track. I tried again but it was impossible, so I am not happy with that or the lack of luck that we are having this year. I hope to be back on form in Brno, after disconnecting during the summer break."

Pics Of The Day: Sachsenring, Saturday

German GP - Saturday Quotes; 250cc

5th Alvaro Bautista: 1.24.253 (23 laps):
"We had some problems yesterday morning - I wasn't comfortable and even though we improved in the afternoon we still had some things to work on. Today I felt more comfortable in both sessions and picked up the pace. I think we're in good shape now even though we have struggled to find the right set-up. Simoncelli is fast here and he'll be the man to follow tomorrow but sometimes on a Sunday things don't always go like in practice. We'll have to push hard to stay with the guys at the front and fight hard to have a chance at the end. This GP is proving tricky, as it was for me last year, because I don't think my lines are great. Anyway, I'm happier with the way I rode today, we're doing a good job and we'll see if we can take another step forward tomorrow."

11th Héctor Faubel: 1.24.709 (23 laps):
"Everything has gone pretty well - probably the only thing missing was one fast lap but I'm close to the guys at the front. I've got good pace and feel in perfect shape for the race. We're on the third row and if I get a good start we can get into the top eight and run with them for the whole race. My main objective is to keep learning and try to set a good consistent pace in the race. I think the key will be to stick it out over the first five laps, which will be fast, with riders looking to get away and set the standard for the rest of the race. The weather forecast says it won't rain so it should be another good chance for us to continue on the upward curve we've been on lately."

German GP - Saturday Quotes; 125cc

1st Gábor Talmacsi: 1.27.552 (17 laps):
"We start from the front and we have a really fast pace so we're ready for tomorrow. I quickly realised that my time from yesterday wasn't going to be enough for pole so I pushed to improve. I guess it won't be an easy race because you have to work physically very hard at this track but I think we just need a slight modification to the bike and we'll be in good shape. It looks as though the pace in general is fast, with three riders ahead of the rest at the moment, but I feel I can be strong in wet or dry conditions. We'll have to see what happens at the start and decide on a strategy to follow, which will be more important here than most other places because of the track conditions. It seems there is not much rubber down, so the grip isn't as good as we would like, but I hope it improves tomorrow."

12th Sergio Gadea: 1.28.559 (16 laps):
"This morning's crash ruined our programme for today. The front wheel bounced and because the track was damp I lost grip and crashed. Things went better in the afternoon and I'm happy that the Aprilia is fast. I'm not happy with my own performance here though because I'm struggling to work on the set-up. I'm running wide in a lot of corners and I can't get the bike to go where I want it. We still don't have hard evidence of what we need to improve to be at 100% so we'll have to take a bit of a gamble in the warm-up. I think Gábor is going to escape in the race and my personal goal is to be as close to the front as possible."

31st Pere Tutusaus: 1.29.618 (17 laps):
"I'm a bit gutted because things didn't go well at all for us on wet tyres this morning. We have to look at the telemetry because I think there was something wrong with the bike - the engine was losing power in certain areas of the track. It is strange because I like the circuit but I can't get comfortable here. The start will be tough because we're a long way down the grid but I'll try my best to put in a good performance."

Pics Of The Day: Sachsenring, Friday

German GP - 250cc Quotes after QP1

6th Héctor Faubel: 1.24.709 (24 laps)
“I’m happy today because we’ve continued in the same vein as Assen and at the end of the day the second row is where we need to be. Finally I can say that I feel comfortable riding the 250cc Aprilia! Qualifying was going as normal but in the end we fitted a new tyre and it proved to be the key to a fast lap. We’ve gone back to the setting from Mugello and Barcelona, which I like a lot, and it looks like the results are coming. If it rains tomorrow we’ve got our homework done and if not we’ll keep working on the suspension because the extra heat introduces a few variables.”

11th Álvaro Bautista: 1.25.007 (21 laps)
“I felt a little uncomfortable with the bike this morning and in the afternoon I improved but there were too many people in my way to improve the lap time. Let’s hope the rain stays off tomorrow so we can improve. The section that’s giving us the most trouble is the series of left-handers in the middle of the lap so that’s where we need to work on. The key to improving my lap time is to getter better references and adapt the set-up of my Aprilia more to the characteristics of the circuit.”

German GP - 125cc Quotes after QP1

1st Gábor Talmacsi: 1.27.623 (16 laps)
“The way the first day has gone has been incredible. I feel as though we’re really competitive, have the perfect setting and the Aprilia is working great. Every change we made has improved the bike and in free practice in particular we made the bike really well balanced. I think that helped us get on the right track for the afternoon and kick things off in the right way here. Sachsenring is a tricky circuit but last year we had good results and that gave me confidence coming here. I think we’re ready for a good result before the long summer break and my objective is to win.”

9th Sergio Gadea: 1.28.559 (16 laps)
“I’m satisfied but not completely happy because I was hoping for more on this first day. The lap times have not been fast and even though the Aprilia is working almost perfectly we need to improve our speed in the fast corners. Providing it doesn’t rain tomorrow we’ll try to improve the front end and get into the top five, which is our main objective. I’m not too pleased with the grid position so we’ll have to keep working to improve. It is more important to avoid traffic at this circuit than at any other because it is so narrow and that makes it difficult to overtake.”

27th Pere Tutusaus: 1.29.706 (18 laps)
“The first session didn’t go well because it rained a little and this, added to the fact that this is a new and difficult circuit for me to learn, made me be quite hesitant. We improved in qualifying but we have to take another step forward if we want to challenge in the top 20. This circuit is full of left-handers so the left side of the tyre gets a lot of wear and this causes the bike to slide, which I’ve not got used to yet. We have to work hard on the set-up of my Aprilia and hope it doesn’t rain tomorrow. If I can improve my pace I’m sure I’ll enjoy the track more because I like its characteristics.”

German GP - 250cc QP1 Results

The first 250cc qualifying saw very different fortunes for the two Mapfre Aspar riders. While Hector Faubel achieved his best provisional position in the class so far with a 6th position, his teammate Alvaro Bautista struggled with the setup of his bike and the suspension. After being on the provisional front row for a big part of the qualifying he was relegated to 11th position in the end, unable to improve his laptime due to a lot of traffic on the track.
